About Geoff Brown

​

Geoff Brown is a fine artist graduating from the Camberwell School of Art in London in 1970.He has had solo exhibitions at Chapter Arts in Cardiff as well as Smiths Gallery and 5Dryden Street Gallery in London. He has also exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in Wales, London and Cheltenham . This included the Wales Portrait Award touring exhibited at the Williamson art gallery Liverpool, STDavids hall Cardiff and Theatre Clwyd in North Wales. Currently he has work on show at the King Street Gallery in Carmarthen and the Off The Wall gallery in Cardiff.


Geoff seeks to find art in the unexpected, both in choice of subject matter and the seemingly random compositional range. S His current work ranges from representational / near photorealist through to abstract process paintings. The representational work often uses everyday subject matter like urban landscape, townscape and traditional figurative compositions. The abstract works have no direct connections to realism and are produced with a strong element of process and colour for its own sake.
